Prehnite, named for Colonel Hendrik Von Prehn (1733-1785), was first described in 1788 when an occurrence was found in the Karoo dolerites, in South Africa, south of the Kalahari Desert. Prehnite is translucent and known for its light green to yellow color. These Prehnite teardrops – in pale green – each dangle beneath a sparkling silver feather, hand saw cut, shaped, and hand-stamped by Ruth Ann Begay, silversmith.
