For many years, the vibrant blue color of Kingman turquoise was the preferred choice for Kewa and other Pueblo heishe artists. Years ago, heishe was made, rolled completely by hand on sandstone slabs. This type of work has an incredible history! This Kingman stabilized heishe necklace was made by Joe Cate’, Kewa Pueblo (Santo Domingo). c. 1980’s
