Kathleen Sanchez strung nearly 25 inches of natural Sleeping Beauty turquoise beads, all 6 mm, into a necklace that makes the most of that famous pale blue. Sleeping Beauty’s color is consistent and clean, a pure sky blue with almost no matrix, and at this length with uniform beads the effect is quiet and confident. The mine closed in 2012, making natural material increasingly hard to find at this quality. A necklace worth having.
